ECGD, the Export Credits Guarantee Department, is the UK's official Export Credit Agency. This is an exciting opportunity to join ECGD’s Business Principles Unit as Head of the Impact Analysis Team. The main objective of the Head of the Impact Analysis Team post is to provide assurance that business supported by ECGD complies with the ECGD’s Business Principles. Three Business Principles Analysts would report to the Post-holder. The analysis involves the team assessing the potential environmental, social, human rights and health and safety impacts of all applications for support (excluding aerospace and defence, which are subject to separate arrangements). This can involve overseas travel, including to the site of the proposed project.
The post-holder will need to have (essential):
Relevant technical knowledge that would be gained through a degree in engineering or environmental science, plus preferably a relevant postgraduate qualification.
The ability to quickly get up to speed on projects in unfamiliar sectors, to confidently discuss technical aspects of projects with customers and to produce clear written assessments of cases and convey the implications of technical information to non-specialist Business Managers and Senior Management.
At least 5 years’ expertise in environmental management or assessment.
The successful applicant must illustrate the following:
Leadership qualities, the ability to analyse and utilise evidence, strategic thinking, people management skills, programme and project management abilities, expertise in communications.
Qualifications: Degree in Environmental Science or Engineering (essential); Relevant postgraduate qualification (desirable).
